Do not ask me

If I take off my iron mask
And iron armor
My nakedness uncovered
Flesh shown vulnerable
Your sword will cut me
Your hands will strangle me
No, do not ask me to bare myself unto you

  1. Thank you for following me. I’m glad you did; it led me to your blog and I’m already smitten with your poetry. Sometimes it’s terribly hard to tear down the walls we build up to protect ourselves. Vulnerability is necessary though, at least with the right people. =)
    Wonderful piece.
